Lady Gaga has teamed with Versace.
The Italian fashion house has called upon the “Do What U Want” singer to front their Spring/Summer 2014 campaign. “Lady Gaga completely captures the Versace essence: creative, experimental, fearless,” the brand revealed in a press release.
For the new Versace campaign ads, Mother Monster is transformed into a Donatella Versace lookalike as she poses for photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. We actually love the nod to the iconic blonde designer, and think it’s perfectly fitting as Gaga herself is a proud Italian American.
Gaga reclines on a sofa in a violet Versace dress paired with an armor-like harness of chains featuring the Versace medusa emblem and a pin straight long blonde wig. Does the ensemble look familiar? Gaga wore the same frock at this past weekend’s American Music Awards, paired with an animatronic white horse inspired by Bianca Jagger.
The singer took to Twitter to reveal the news, writing “I’m so happy to be working w/ @Versace for the new Campaign! What do you wanna wear this Spring? #Donatella #famiglia.”
“To a true iconic contemporary Versace woman: Thank you” Donatella responded to Gaga’s tweet.
