Lady Gaga is not only attending South by Southwest as a performer. She’ll also be a featured speaker.
The pop singer will deliver the keynote address at SXSW on Friday, March 14. The speaking event, led by John Norris of Fuse, will be held at 11 a.m, at the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Austin – Downtown.
The address will be given to Music and Platinum registrants at the festival, the music portion of which is held March 11-16 in Austin, Texas. It will follow Gaga’s performance at Stubb’s on its Doritos #BoldStage the previous night (March 13) benefiting the singer’s Born This Way foundation.
Gaga’s participation in the industry conference affirms the fest’s standing as a destination for major artists to include in their promotional cycle. Gaga is set to kick off her fourth world tour in May called artRave: The ARTPOP Ball. The singer, whose “ARTPOP” hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last year, was reportedly denied a permit to perform at the Doritos stage’s original venue, spawning the Stubb’s performance.
Other South By Southwest 2014 keynote speakers include Lena Dunham, Neil Young and Julian Assange. Dave Grohl presented the festival’s keynote address in 2013.
