Ryan Murphy wants Lady Gaga to stick around on American Horror Story.
The showrunner took to Twitter on Tuesday to declare his admiration for his new leading lady in the FX anthology — and ask her to return for another season.
Lady Gaga Says ‘American Horror Story’ Role Made Her Feel Alive and ‘Like Herself’
“Lady Gaga is so brilliant in AHS Season 5 that yesterday I officially asked her to join Season 6. Say yes @ladygaga!” Murphy wrote.
While FX has not officially announced a sixth season of the horror anthology co-created by Murphy and Brad Falchuk, the series is the cable network’s highest-rated series.
Season five kicks off Wednesday and marks the franchise’s first year without leading lady Jessica Lange. Gaga makes her acting debut in American Horror Story: Hotel, which as like every other season marks a complete reset of the story with the largely returning cast — including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates and more — all playing new characters.
It’s unclear if Lange will be back to rejoin the franchise at any point in the future.
