Lady Gaga has yet to embark on the nearly sold-out North American leg of her 2010 Monster Ball tour, but she’s already looking ahead to next year. With most of this summer’s dates sold out, the singer will return in 2011 with a run of arena dates starting February, tour promoter Live nation announced today (May 10).
The 2011 North American Monster Ball Tour is set to kick off Feb. 19 in Atlantic City, with arena 10 dates so far confirmed through April 18. Additional dates are expected to be announced. Semi Precious Weapons, which is set to open all 2010 dates, will continue with the tour in 2011.
Tickets for the 2011 shows go on sale May 14, 2010 at LiveNation.com. Additional information can be found at LadyGaga.com.
The 2010 North American Monster Ball Tour begins June 28 in Montreal and continues until Sept. 19 when it wraps up in Raleigh N.C. Gaga is also one of the headliners of this summer’s Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago, and will appear at Carnegie Hall on May 13 with Sting and Elton John as part of the annual Rainforest Fund benefit concert.
Although Gaga’s 2009-2010 North American tour was also dubbed the Monster Ball, the pop star promises an expanded production built to suit the larger venues. “It’s still called Monster Ball, but it’s more of a musical and less of a concert,” Lady Gaga said in a February interview with KIIS-FM’s Ryan Seacrest. “It has a New York theme, it’s a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we’re going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost.”
