Lady Gaga became the second musical guest on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday night (Feb. 18), presenting a half-stripped-down version of her “ARTPOP” title track — perhaps the next single from her latest full-length?
The studio version of “ARTPOP” is a showcase of stuttering synthesizers and other whirring gizmos, but for her “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” debut, Gaga parked herself behind a crystal piano placed on a towering platform at the back of the stage. The familiar beat kicks in after the first chorus, and eventually, the pop superstar marches down the ramp toward her audience and takes a break from strutting to cry, “I just love the music, not the bling!” in the song.

After “Do What U Want,” her duet with R. Kelly, became a Top 20 hit on the Hot 100 chart, Gaga and her team have been cagey about the next single from the album — it could be “Gypsy,” or “Venus,” or “ARTPOP,” or none of the above. Last week, reports surfaced that the singer was shooting a big-budget music video at the Hearst Castle on the California coast, although the song at the center of the shoot was not disclosed.
In more concrete happenings, Gaga’s artRave: the ARTPOP Ball tour will begin on May 4 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Last month, the pop star extended her upcoming arena trek to include a fall European leg.
