Tuesday (Nov. 13) is World Kindness Day, and in celebration, Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation announced the launch of the #MultiplyYourGood Challenge with support from Zappos. The campaign asks for people to immerse in the holiday season by volunteering or donating (gently used items or money) to a nonprofit in their community. For every act of kindness extended by Dec. 21, Gaga’s organization will “multiply” it by performing an act of good for one of its nonprofit partners.
SoulCycle is also participating by inviting riders to take part across their 88 studios. Participants can share their experiences on social media with the hashtag #MultiplyYourGood and submit the acts of good they pledge to perform here. Each participant will also be entered in a contest to win a trip to Las Vegas, where the winner will take part in a service event alongside the Born This Way Foundation team and enjoy tickets to Lady Gaga’s new Vegas show.
“Giving back doesn’t just help others, it can change the way that you feel about yourself and your ability to make a difference. Sometimes the challenges we face can feel overwhelming, but I want everyone to remember that we all have the power to do good in our communities – and that we can have the greatest impact when we work together,” said Cynthia Germanotta, co-founder and president of Born This Way Foundation. “I hope everyone takes the #MultiplyYourGood Challenge as an invitation to not only support the tremendous local nonprofits who make our communities stronger, but as an opportunity to celebrate their capacity to help build a kinder, braver world.”
The Born This Way Foundation, founded in 2012, aims to improve youth wellness and empower young people to create a kinder world.
