On Saturday (Oct. 5), the soundtrack for A Star Is Born turned 1 — and Lady Gaga received another award for her collection, this time for the album’s formidable commercial success.
The soundtrack — which features “Shallow,” Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s award-winning, chart-topping duet — has officially reached double platinum status, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
Gaga was presented with a plaque honoring the achievement, which notes the soundtrack’s 6 million album equivalent units sold globally, and it’s already fitting in with her scores of other wins for the music from the film. “Shallow” won two Grammys, including one for best pop duo/group performance, an Oscar, a Golden Globe and more over the course of the 2019 awards season.
After receiving the plaque, Gaga, sporting a new bubblegum pink ‘do and a black and pink houndstooth mini-dress and gloves to match, posed with her latest trophy in front of shelves stacked with her prior prizes.
“A year ago, A Star was Born, and here we are 6 times pink platinum,” she shared on Instagram.
