Country trio Lady Antebellum will likely snare its second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart next week as its new “Own the Night” is poised to sell between 260,000-290,000 copies by week’s end on Sunday, Sept. 18.
The album follows the act’s breakthrough second album, “Need You Now,” which arrived atop the Billboard 200 dated Feb. 13, 2010 with a whopping 481,000 sold in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan. “Need’s” debut was charged by its smash title track, which, by the time the album arrived, had made the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Country Songs chart. The album also got off to a grand start thanks a release-week performance of the single on the Grammy Awards (Jan. 31).

Lady Antebellum’s new album’s lead-off track, “Just a Kiss,” racked up two weeks at No. 1 on the Country Songs chart and earned the band a career-high bow at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Lady A won’t be the only country act to make a top 10 splash next week, as Brantley Gilbert‘s “Halfway to Heaven” is going to make a splash, too. The formerly independently-released set was picked up by Valory Records and reissued last week. Since its arrival in March of 2010, the album has moved 135,000 copies and peaked at No. 112.
A quartet of rock albums also stand a good chance of debuting in the top 10 next week. Staind‘s new self-titled album, Dream Theater’s “A Dramatic Turn of Events,” Devil Wears Prada‘s “Dead Throne” and Anthrax‘s “Worship Music” could also land in the region.
