Nick Lachey will host ABC’s “High School Musical: Summer Session,” the summer TV reality show spinoff of the Disney franchise.
“Summer Session” is seeking contestants to audition for and then participate in a summer music program where they can hone their skills. Open casting calls for “Summer Session” will be held in the next few weeks in Long Beach, Calif., and Orlando, Fla. Contestants must be between the ages of 16-22.
Reality show vet Lachey, who appeared on MTV’s “Newlyweds” with then-wife Jessica Simpson and in NBC’s recent “Clash of the Choirs,” plans to release his third solo album later this year.
The show will debut on ABC on July 20. It is executive produced by Jay Blumenfeld and Tony Marsh.
