Kylie Minogue’s U.K. tour has stretched by another seven shows after the Australian pop star’s eight British arena dates sold out in less than two hours of going on sale, organizers say.
More than 120,000 tickets sold this morning, triggering the addition of a new date for Belfast, Northern Ireland; and two apiece for Glasgow, Scotland and the English cities of Manchester and London.
The frenzy for Minogue concert tickets coincides with a No. 4 debut for the singer’s new album, “X” (Parlophone), on the Official U.K. Albums Chart, published today, on the back of more than 82,000 first-week sales.
Minogue’s team last week announced an extensive 2008 European tour in support of the album. Following today’s development, the “KYLIEX2008” tour counts 31 dates and is now due to finish July 30 at the O2 Arena in London.
