Some of U2‘s songwriting must have rubbed off on Kygo when they worked on “You’re The Best Thing About Me,” because the Norwegian producer’s latest single “Kids in Love” is big, bold and bright as the sun.
There’s a hint of Springsteen in its swirling elements, and definitely some of the Irish rock band in its banging piano. There’s even some Arcade Fire going on in there. The Night Game no doubt had a hand in the overall vibe. The band hails from Boston, Mass., and its strong vocals and rock spirit come through beautifully.
“Kids in Love” is the lead single and title track to a new album coming Friday, Nov. 3. It’s been heavily promoted these last couple of weeks, and it’s perhaps one of Kygo’s most exciting works to date. The first song from the project shows a lot of growth, and it’s got us looking forward to the rest of the album, one Kygo promises will be his most diverse release yet.
The new song is out everywhere today on Sony/Ultra Music. Listen to “Kids in Love” below.
