Kygo teamed up with Uber to debut his new single, “Nothing Left” ft. Will Heard, in Chicago on Thursday (July 31) in the lead-up to Lollapalooza.
Chicago fans could unlock a special “Kygo” vehicle icon in the Uber app that allowed them to request a free ride to the Norwegian producer’s secret performance with Heard at Emporium Arcade Bar. The live show was also streamed simultaneously through Uber’s Periscope account.
Listen to his new single below:
“The track got such an amazing reception when I played it for the first time in Chicago last night and I just hope everybody else is as happy with it as I am,” says Kygo. “Massive shout out to Uber for organizing the impromptu gig and to Periscope for enabling my fans all over the world to share the moment with me!”
Marshall Osborne, head of music partnerships for Uber, says the event marked the first time Uber has partnered with an artist to debut a single through live performance.
“We are thrilled to partner with Kygo to debut his single in a new and unprecedented way for fans around the world,” says Osborne. “We are also pumped to offer Uber riders in Chicago the exclusive opportunity to hear the new track in person by attending a secret live performance by Kygo — all by simply requesting an Uber.”
Kygo is set to close Lollapalooza’s Pepsi Stage on Sunday, and will headline the festival’s official after show at the Concord Music Hall later that night. Kygo will also headline the Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival, taking place Aug. 22-23 at Jones Beach, N.Y.
