It’s not totally unheard of for a musical act or artist to completely start over on social media. Radiohead recently deleted its web presence to start totally fresh before dropping its latest album A Moon Shaped Pool. The Gorillaz launched an Instagram account for the first time a few months ago and began blasting it with new content as a means to build hype for its upcoming LP. So, when news broke that Kygo had deleted everything from his Instagram, we weren’t concerned. We were excited.
Billboard Dance has reached out to Kygo’s camp for official comment but have received no information or confirmation as of press time. The Kygo account, followed by 1.3 million users, is no longer bare of any content. He’s posted three abstract shots, random crops from presumably some new press photo session. Could it be a visual tease of new music? Perhaps his collaboration with Selena Gomez? We’ll be sure to let you know of any new updates, but for now, your guess is as good as ours.
