Fans love KSHMR for his shape-shifting presence. The California producer and live performer can serve exotic mysticism or stomping big-room booms. He’s always got contagious energy and boundless optimism, but his latest single “Carry Me Home” is so uplifting, it soars.
The collaborative single brought him together with vocalist Jake Reese, a longtime fan of KSHMR’s ever since he first heard Far East Movement’s “Like a G6,” a song KSHMR helped create.
“KSHMR is such a legend,” Reese says in an emailed statement. “To be working with him was truly an honor. I immediately got excited when hearing this track for the first time; it has so much energy, I wanted to creating a timeless vocal line for it. I feel we nailed it, let’s hope it turns into an evergreen just like many other KSHMR records have become.”
“’Carry Me Home’ started with the drop melody,” KSHMR continues. “I was scared I wouldn’t find a vocal I loved just as much, but Jake Reese and (co-writer Joren van der Voort?) blew me away with what they wrote.”
KSHMR premiered the song during his set at Ultra 2018 in downtown Miami, and it’s become a favorite for his peers ever since. It’s out everywhere Friday, but you can listen to “Carry Me Home” below, exclusively on Billboard Dance.
