Korea’s pop and indie world collided on Valentine’s Day this year when f(x) member Krystal Jung and Glen Check’s June One Kim released their collaboration for “I Don’t Wanna Love You” single and video.
The song brings together the girl-group member and electro-rock band’s singer-guitarist for a dreamy electro-pop cut with a foreboding vibe. Released by BANA, the single was accompanied by a gorgeous-yet-disconcerting video starring Krystal. The stunning visual blending elements of Alice in Wonderland amid images of what appears to be a domestic abuse situation as a man’s hands wrap about the singer’s neck. The track’s repetitive “I don’t wanna love you” hook becomes all the more ominous as we video ends with Krystal embracing the same hands that were just around her neck. Watch below:
The artistic visual marks new territory for Krystal — who will soon be making her debut as one of the global faces for Keds — as do the accompanying concept photos where the starlet poses in sheer clothing and in more provocative settings. The “I Don’t Wanna Love You” video was initially revealed alongside a photo book at an exhibition event in Seoul that brought out the likes of designer Ahn Sung Soo and actress and former f(x) member Sulli.
Billboard is proud to reveal some of the accompanying shots from the shoot that you can see above and below:
