The one and only Kristin Chenoweth has signed a worldwide recording deal with Concord Music Group, Billboard can exclusively reveal.
The Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer will release a new album, Coming Home, on Nov. 18.
“All of us are thrilled to have someone of Kristin’s stature be a part of the Concord family,” said Mark Wexler, general manager/senior vice president of the Concord Records Group. “She is a multi-talented entertainer and has touched so many lives with her thrilling performances. We all look forward to working closely with her in this next chapter of her incredible, multi-faceted career.”
Chenoweth is hosting PBS’ annual Arts Fall Festival this year, which kicks off Sept. 26 and runs for 11 weeks. The festival is centered around performances of classic Broadway hits and contemporary theater productions. Her own concert, Kristin Chenoweth: Coming Home, is part of the festival, too — on Nov. 28, PBS will broadcast Chenoweth’s career-spanning concert from her hometown of Broken Arrow, Okla.
In the film world, Chenoweth recently wrapped production on the upcoming movie The Boy Next Door co-starring Jennifer Lopez, as well as the Disney Channel original movie Descendants, which features her playing the Sleeping Beauty nemesis Maleficent. The former Wicked star returns to Broadway in 2015 in On the Twentieth Century.
