It’s been a few years since Knife Party dropped a head-banger for the dance floor, but that’s all about to change. The beloved bass duo behind “Internet Friends,” “Centipede,” “Boss Party” and “Bonfire” has a four-track EP on the way. It’s called Lost Souls, and while we can’t share any of its goodness with you just yet, we can tell you there are some sonic shifts at play. There’s a softer side of Knife Party on display, but if you’re looking for blood-curdling bass drops, it’s got that, too.
Lost Souls marks Knife Party’s first solo release since 2015’s Trigger Warning EP, though they collaborated with Tom Morello and Pegboard Nerds in 2016 and 2018 respectively. Knife Party also remixed Pendulum’s “Blood Sugar” as part of the band’s remixed-by release in 2018. Knife Party’s Gareth McGrillen and Rob Swire are also members of Pendulum, so it made all the sense.
Lost Souls is due out on Earstorm Friday, July 19. Martin Garrix was spotted dropping the EP’s hardest track at EDC Las Vegas. You can check that sneak peek below, and while you’re at it, peep the official artwork.
