Universal Music Group Nashville senior VP of sales and marketing Ben Kline rises to the newly created position of executive VP of sales, marketing and new media for the company.
Based in Nashville, Kline will continue to oversee all of the label group’s sales activities, while spearheading extensive marketing and new media efforts for its artists. He will continue to report to GM Ken Robold.
Co-chairman Luke Lewis calls Kline a “consummate professional” and says he “continues to help lead us through the complexities of an ever-changing marketplace.”
“As this business continues to re-invent itself, I am grateful to have the opportunities and responsibilities that Luke, [co-chairman] James [Stroud] and Ken continue to provide me,” Kline said in a release.
Prior to joining Universal Nashville, Kline served at Polygram Group Distribution, where he held numerous positions, eventually becoming director of East Coast sales for Island Records. He later joined Mercury Nashville as national sales director and quickly rose through the ranks, eventually earning his VP stripes.
