Universal Music Group Nashville (UMGN) executive VP of sales, marketing and new media Ben Kline has exited the company. While his exit is part of Universal Music Group-wide cuts, Kline is expected to resurface elsewhere soon.
Kline oversaw sales and marketing efforts for MCA Nashville, Mercury Nashville and Lost Highway. He rose to his current position in 2006 and has been with the Nashville division since 1996.
Prior to joining UMGN, Kline served at PolyGram Group Distribution, where he held numerous positions, eventually becoming director of East Coast sales for Island Records.
The label group is expected to announce a new structure for its sales and marketing department as soon as next week. No other cuts are expected at the label group, according to a source familiar with the situation.
