Kings of Leon break out the family on their latest music video, a Nashville-centric adaptation of “Temple,” the third single from their 2013 album “Mechanical Bull.”
On hand in the studio are all the Followill brothers’ kids: Caleb’s daughter Dixie, Nathan’s daughter Violet, and Matthew’s son Knox. The video splits between shots of an in-studio performance of “Temple” and sepia-toned Super 8 footage shot around the band’s home town of Nashville.
“The Super 8 footage was shot by the band, myself and director Paul Greenhouse on the day of the video and the days leading up to it,” says Casey McGrath, who consulted with Greenhouse on the video. “Nashville (is a) part of the band’s life that is extremely near and dear to their hearts.” McGrath is chief creative officer at the Phear Creative, the agency behind the “Temple” video, as well as numerous past Kings of Leon vids (“Pyro,” “Back Down South,” “Beautiful War”) and their 2011 documentary “Talihina Sky.”
Kings of Leon Confirm Second Leg of ‘Mechanical Bull’ Tour
The video is also a production of Christopher “Nacho” Followill, cousin to the band’s Followill brothers. He recently started a new media initiative called NachoVision, which connects fans with first hand footage of the band — pre-show rituals, backstage gatherings, scenes from the road and more. Continues McGrath:
“NachoVision is in the early stages of development and is on track to become a robust content platform that offers a very personal, entertaining and frequent look inside the band (members’) lives on and off tour, as well serving up content about all the band’s passion points (in music, films, food, sports, etc.)”
Prior to the band’s Feb. 14, Madison Square Garden show in New York, he joined model Lily Aldridge (wife of frontman Caleb Followill) and surprised a handful of fans in the nosebleed seats with front row ticket upgrades. Check out the video below:
For tonight (Feb. 28)’s concert, Nacho will tip Facebook fans off that he’s serving nachos at one of the concession stands at Boston’s TD Garden. The first ten fans to find him will get front row seats.
More from NachoVision is available on Christopher’s Instagram page. The band also shared the following teaser video of the band’s North American tour, which began Feb. 5 in Atlanta.
