
After tweeting her support for Bruce Jenner during his 20/20 special Friday night, where the former Olympian came out as transgender woman, Kim Kardashian gave a pre-taped interview with Matt Lauer that aired Monday morning on Today. (The interview seems to have been taped prior to the 20/20 special; Lauer did not bring up Jenner’s assertion during the special that Kanye West helped Kim accept everything that was going on.)

“We’re really close. I see reports that say this one doesn’t support him, and this one’s over here, and my mom feels this way, and it’s really so made up,” Kardashian — who Jenner referred to as “the most supportive” — said. “We all really support him. Is it a hard adjustment? Yes.”

Discussing that there have been “lots of family meetings” since Jenner’s announcement to the family a few months ago, Kardashian acknowledged the public perception of their family, explaining, “Say what you want about us, but we work out everything as a family and we have the best communication. We are so in sync with each other. I love having so many siblings and such a supportive mom. We all may be dealing with this in a different way but we have each other to go through this experience with.”
“I’m really happy for him that he is living his life the way he wants to live it,” she concluded. “And that he has found inner peace and just pure happiness. That’s what life is about.”
