Khloe Kardashian broke down a heated exchange between Tristan Thompson and Kanye West on Sunday night’s (Sept. 8) Season 17 premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
The confrontation between Kardashian’s ex and brother-in-law occurred during a birthday party for the former couple’s one-year-old daughter, True. While no audio was captured during the on-camera argument, West later explained during the episode that the NBA player was upset with him for using his song “Runaway” in a recent teaser for the show.
“He felt like we were using my music to reinforce his narrative,” West said of the track from 2010’s My Dark Beautiful Twisted Fantasy. (“Let’s have a toast for the douche bags/ Let’s have a toast for the assholes/ Let’s have a toast for the scumbags/ Every one of them that I know,” Ye croons on the song’s chorus, among other choice adjectives.)
Kardashian, however, was less than pleased that the confrontation happened at all.
“I don’t need at my daughter’s birthday party for any of this to be a discussion,” she seethed before angrily storming off. “I know everyone’s intention is to be helpful and protective. But at True’s birthday party, it’s not the right timing.”
