Are keyboard controllers coming to Rock Band 3?
MTV and Harmonix released a two-song demo for the forthcoming “Green Day: Rock Band” on the Xbox Live Marketplace which among other things contained a teaser image for Rock Band 3. That image showed off the logos of all the existing instrument peripherals used for the franchise—guitar, bass, drums, and microphones—but added a keyboard icon as well for the first time.
Harmonix has not made any official statement, but the company is booking previews of Rock Band 3 for the upcoming E3 conference in Los Angeles next month. It’s a standard practice in the videogame industry to leak out tidbits of information like this in advance of a release and let the gamer blog community feed off it as a core marketing strategy.
