Tame Impala should be completing a biggest-ever trans-Tasman arena tour this Tuesday night (April 28) in their hometown, Perth. That’s not happening. The coronavirus pandemic nixed those plans, and all dates have been pushed back to December.
The psychedelic pop outfit’s linchpin Kevin Parker isn’t twiddling his thumbs. On Saturday night, the celebrated artist and producer joined in the Music From The Home Front virtual concert, along with 50-plus other stars from Australia and New Zealand.
Parker chilled on his couch with an acoustic guitar for a solo performance of “On Track,” a number from Tame Impala’s fourth and most recent studio album, The Slow Rush.
The brainchild of Michael Gudinski, Music From The Home Front aired Saturday (April 25) on the Nine Network in Australia and won the night’s ratings battle, thanks to performances from Parker, Tones And I, The Wiggles, Courtney Barnett and many others.
