Kendrick Lamar is an undisputed juggernaut on his own, and he’s not one to back down from a challenging collaboration. From working with Imagine Dragons to Robin Thicke, we know Kendrick likes to experiment, so it’s refreshing to see him hopping on a track with someone who lives to experiment — Flying Lotus.
FlyLo is set to release You’re Dead!, his latest studio album, on Oct. 7 via Warp. That LP will feature the following Kendrick Lamar collaboration, “Never Catch Me,” which just hit the Internet:
If you can get past the constant “This is a Power 106 world premiere” and “L.A. Leakers” audio branding tags, this is an interesting cut to sink your teeth into. There aren’t many A-list rappers who could handle a beat like this, but Kendrick is clearly one of them.
You’re Dead! also features collaborations with Herbie Hancock and Thundercat.
