American Idol, chart-topper, The Voice coach, beat battler. Kelly Clarkson can do it all.
The “Stronger” singer was a guest on The Tonight Show on Sunday night, where she took up host Jimmy Fallon’s challenge of a beat battle.
It sounds easier than it looks. House band The Roots play a random beat, Clarkson and Fallon take turns singing songs that maybe fit. Run out of lyrics and, well, don’t bother telling Kelly. She never runs out (her own words).
The pair smashed out hits of the past 50 years, from “Uptown Girl,” “Dancing in the Street,” “Sunglasses at Night,” “Tough Guy,” “I’m Too Sexy” and many more. It’s a live jukebox, there’s no losers just winners.
