Clarkson’s husband, Brandon Blackstock, also happens to be Shelton’s manager and the three have been longtime friends. However, the vocal powerhouse told People in a recent interview that due to the strong relationships with each judge, her husband is staying neutral.
“He’s like Switzerland,” she told the publication. “I always do say though that at least I put out — so unless he’s doing something I don’t know about, I should win!”
“If I fire Brandon, it’s one thing. If she fires him, it’s going to be real bad. He knows who to suck up to,” Shelton chimed in.
Fans can tune in to see if Clarkson will beat Shelton—who has won the show six times, more than any other judge—Monday (Feb. 26) at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
