Santa Monica-based public radio station KCRW is launching a new custom-built media player next week that will give listeners greater access to the sites online programming and archives.
With the new player, designed by tech company Digitaria, online listeners can stream and watch KCRW shows and playlists, subscribe to podcasts and click on links to buy CDs or books from artists and authors being interviewed.
Users can create their own channel on the site, bookmarking shows, performances and interviews that they can watch or listen to later. By clicking on a button on the player, they can embed clips on blogs and email links to friends.
