KCON 2018 NY finalized its lineup Wednesday (May 9) with the addition of the boy band Golden Child.
The 10-member boy band debuted last year with their EP Gol-cha! under Woollim Entertainment, home to INFINITE and Lovelyz. They followed it up with the release of their second EP Miracle in January. Between the two albums, they’ve released three singles and explored retro pop-rock and synth-pop sounds through “DamDaDi,” “It’s U” and “Lady.”
KCON 2018 NY, which will be held on June 23-24 at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center, marks Golden Child’s first Stateside appearance. They will perform the second night of this year’s East Coast leg of the Korean pop culture convention and music festival, appearing at the Sunday show alongside girl groups EXID and fromis_9 and boy bands NCT 127 and Wanna One. The Saturday show will feature alt R&B singer Heize, boy bands Pentagon, Super Junior and Stray Kids, and girl group Red Velvet.
KCON 2018 NY will be followed by KCON 2018 LA, which will take place at the Staples Center and LA Convention Center on August 10-12. Both KCON USA events are hosted by Korean entertainment company CJ E&M and its subsidiary channel Mnet.
Concert tickets go on sale for the New York-area event on Friday, May 11, while convention tickets will be available on May 14.
