America’s biggest K-pop festival is now bicoastal.
KCON announced it will expand to an East Coast date in America, hosting a one-day convention and concert in the New York area. The fest makes its NYC debut at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on Aug. 8.
As previously reported, KCON will also return for its fourth year in Los Angeles — its home base location that’s grown exponentially over the years that now boasts a third day and a home at the Staples Center. The fest debuted in 2012 as a one-day convention and concert and grew to 42,000 attendees for a two-day, two-concert event in 2014. This past week, the festival became international with KCON 2015 Japan hosting 15,000 fans at Tokyo’s Saitama Super Arena on April 22 to see acts like INFINITE, SISTAR, GOT7 and more.
No other information past dates and location has been announced for either location, but fans can expect impressive K-pop talent (like last year’s headliners Girls’ Generation and G-Dragon), panelists, food trucks, workshops and more things “Korean wave.”
