Thomas Kaurich has been promoted to fill the vacant role as head of EMI Classics U.K., with effect from January 2006.
The post has been open since Barry McCann stepped aside mid-year as managing director of the label. Since then, Mark Collen has assumed responsibility. McCann continues as a consultant.
Collen took the reins in May as senior VP of Angel Label Group, which pools together the EMI Classics U.K., Innocent and Angel labels.
Based in London, Kaurich is currently director, international marketing for EMI International. “His leadership and strategic focus will help to build our market share and further develop our digital business,” comments Collen, to whom he reports.
Kaurich joined EMI in Sept. 1997 as A&R director for EMI Classics U.K., before moving within the company to become marketing director, DVD and core repertoire for EMI Classics International.
