Katy Perry took time out from her Australian tour to pay a surprise visit to a young fan recovering from brain surgery.
The American pop superstar stopped by to visit Grace Moores, who missed her hero’s concert in Adelaide after doctors removed a 6cm tumor.
Grace’s older sister, Tiana, started a social media campaign for the “Firework” singer to drop in. The youngster, she tweeted, has been “Katy’s biggest fan since she was three,” but she had been “battling all year” with health problems and was unable to attend any of the shows.

Tiana tagged Perry’s Twitter handle and the message enjoyed more than 20,000 retweets. The singer surprised Grace at her Banksia Park home on Tuesday, before her third and final show at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. “Guys we did it,” Tiana tweeted.

“When Katy arrived out the front, Grace was a bit shell-shocked. She was just in awe, the smile on her face was just priceless,” her mother Marie told The Advertiser.
“Katy is the most down-to-earth, genuine person you could meet,” she added. “She asked about Grace and how she was going with her treatment, and she asked Grace to show her her bedroom and have a look around.”
Perry hung out with the whole family and signed a shirt for Grace, who she called her “new merch model.” She even busted out three songs, including an acoustic version of “Roar.”
