This year’s theme celebrates the museum’s Costume Institute exhibition “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” which explores the intersection of haute couture and machine-made fashion.

At last year’s Met Ball, Perry wore a black graffitied Moschino gown, which became subject to a lawsuit after the graffiti artist accused the Italian brand and its creative director, Jeremy Scott, of plagiarizing his mural, Vandal Eyes.
