Katy Perry literally lit up the 2019 Met Gala.
The songstress stepped onto the red carpet on Monday (May 6) as a human chandelier in three layers of electronic candles (one of which was a hat) surrounding her glittery silver Moschino dress.
Perry’s look aligns perfectly with the costume theme of “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” curated by Andrew Bolton, which is a play on writer Susan Sontag’s seminal essay, “Notes on Camp.” The theme aims for guests to explore fashion’s tones of theatricality, humor and exaggeration, complete with over-the-top designs.
Update: Perry then changed into a hamburger outfit for the after parties — toothpick and all — making the switch in the Metropolitan Museum of Art bathroom.
