Kaskade went down to Arizona over the weekend to perform at set at the Phoenix Lights festival, but some fans weren’t too thrilled about his back-to-his-roots set.
“I’ve seen about 10 of your sets and that one the other night sounded like you just threw bs together. Disappointed,” one fan wrote on Twitter on Monday (April 8). The DJ quickly responded, noting that the “set seemed to anger some people AND make others very happy.”
“I admit I went well into the redux zone on the main stage… sometimes I just can’t help myself,” he continued, referring to a style of set he usually reserves for smaller gigs, spinning tracks as a celebration of his old style. “redux was never meant for the masses. I hope by writing this tweet your day has been made brighter and a weight lifted.”
