Did you know Wally West can sing? Yeah, Kid Flash from CW’s The Flash DC comic hit has more than one super power. Actor Keiynan Lonsdale can get a whole room groovin’, especially when he links up with Swedish producer Kasbo.
“Lay It On Me” is a feel-good summer vibe for the hopeless romantic in you. It’s got the kind of sunset colors that’ll fit in perfectly as Kasbo heads out on tour with ODESZA in the coming months. Lonsdale’s vocal brings the whole thing home with a laidback pop freshness.
“The vocal hook came to me the very first time I played the instrumental,” Lonsdale says. “Kasbo and I hadn’t even met yet, but I just felt so instantly inspired. It was like an effortless connection to the music. I remember just dancing around my room imagining what it could be like if he and his camp chose my lyrics. I imagined a world where our song was a reality, and now here we are. It’s real life, I think. I’m so happy to share these sounds and give people new feelings.”
Separated by ocean, the two crafted the song via internet connection before putting the final touches on the track together in LA.
“I had so much fun working with Keiynan on this song,” Kasbo says. “(I’m) incredibly proud of what we were able to create together … After over a year, I’m so happy to finally be able to show the final product to everyone.”
Kasbo is riding high after a succesful run opening for Glass Animals on the road, not to mention his sold out debut live show at Denver’s Larimier Lounge. “Lay It On Me” is a real victory lap, and it’s out in full today. Listen to it below.
