Universal Music Greece has elevated Thanos Karagrigoris to GM. His appointment follows the departure of the company’s managing director Costas Bourmas for personal reasons, Universal Music said today (July 26).
Karagrigoris joined the company on March 1 as manager, strategic marketing & new media. In his new role, he assumes responsibility for all aspects of the operations of the Athens-based company.
Prior to joining the firm, Karagrigoris held marketing and A&R posts at a number of companies in Greece, including Sony, Minos-EMI and PolyGram, and helped establish the local subsidiary of V2 Records.
He reports to Vico Antippas, senior VP, Central & Eastern Europe, at Universal Music Group International.
Bourmas held senior executive roles at Minos-EMI and Sony Music before joining Universal Music Greece in 2001 as MD.
