Kanye West’s “Gold Digger” featuring Jamie Foxx still reigns at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Billboard chart for the sixth week in a row. The single achieves the same distinction on Hot Ringtones, plus a fourth week at the top spot on the Pop 100 and a third on Hot Rap Songs.
However, “Gold Digger” loses its foothold on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart to “Soul Survivor” by Young Jeezy featuring Akon, which rises 2-1 and climbs 8-7 on the Hot 100, where it is the greatest sales gainer this week.
Meanwhile, Nickelback’s “Photograph” rises 3-2 on the Hot 100 to trade places with Mariah Carey’s “Shake It Off.” “Photograph” also holds on to No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock chart for a fourth week and jumps 12-8 on the Modern Rock tally.
The Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps” advances 5-4 on the Hot 100, flip-flopping positions with “Like You” by Bow Wow featuring Ciara. Green Day’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends” stays at No. 6 as Kelly Clarkson’s “Because of You” jumps 14-9 in its eighth week on the list.
Chris Brown’s “Run It!” moves 11-8 and is the chart’s greatest airplay gainer again this week. David Banner’s “Play” closes out the top tier as it slips 7-10.
INXS’ “Pretty Vegas” gives the Australian-based rock act the highest debut of its career at No. 37. It’s the band’s first release with new lead singer J.D. Fortune, who won the slot through the reality show “Rock Star: INXS.” The group’s debut album with Fortune, “Switch,” is due Nov. 29 via Epic.
Other debuts on the Hot 100 this week include Mariah Carey’s “Don’t Forget About Us” (No. 81), The Pussycat Dolls’ “Stickwitu” (No. 85), Rihanna’s “If It’s Lovin’ That You Want” (No. 96), the Strokes’ “Juicebox” (No. 98) and Billy Currington’s “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right” (No. 100).
Garth Brooks’ “Good Ride Cowboy” arrives at No. 93 on the Hot 100, but the big news comes on the Hot Country Songs chart. The title’s entry at No. 18 shatters Brooks’ former record for the highest debut there since Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems began supplying data for the chart in 1991, which was the No. 19 entry that year of his mega-hit “The Thunder Rolls.” This is Brooks’ first single in two years.
Also on the Hot Country Songs chart, Keith Urban’s “Better Life” moves 2-1, dislodging Montgomery Gentry’s “Something To Be Proud Of” after two weeks at the summit.
Shakira’s “La Tortura” featuring Alejandro Sanz continues to shake up the Hot Latin Songs chart at No. 1 for the eighth consecutive week and 19th overall, while Nine Inch Nails’ “Only” leapfrogs Gorillaz’ “Feel Good Inc” at No. 1 on the Modern Rock airplay list. For a 10th week, Rob Thomas’ “Lonely No More” leads the Adult Contemporary chart.
