In its 14th week on the chart, Kanye West’s “Gold Digger” featuring Jamie Foxx continues to dominate the Billboard Hot 100. The song is No. 1 on the big chart for an eighth straight week and also tops the Pop 100 for a sixth and the Hot Ringtones tally for an eighth.
The Hot 100’s greatest airplay gainer, Chris Brown’s “Run It!,” holds on to the No. 2 spot for the second week in a row, while the Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps” advances 4-3. Nickelback’s “Photograph” trades places with the Peas, falling 3-4, but preserves its No. 1 status on the Mainstream Rock airplay chart for a sixth week.
Young Jeezy’s “Soul Survivor” featuring Akon advances 7-5 on the Hot 100 and remains at No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart for a third week. “Like You” by Bow Wow featuring Ciara stays at No. 6 on the Hot 100 while Mariah Carey’s “Shake It Off” falls 5-7 in its 15th week. Kelly Clarkson’s “Because Of You” climbs 9-8, swapping places with “Wake Me Up When September Ends” by Green Day. Sean Paul’s “We Be Burnin'” rebounds 13-10 to round out the top tier.
The Hot 100’s top debut is a big one for Madonna, as “Hung Up” bows at No. 20. It’s her 51st chart entry and the sixth Madonna song to debut in the top 20.
Other Hot 100 debuts are Fall Out Boy’s “Dance, Dance” (No. 66), 50 Cent’s “Hustler’s Ambition” (No. 73), Shakira’s “Don’t Bother” (No. 74), Ashlee Simpson’s “L.O.V.E.” (No. 78), Gwen Stefani’s “Luxurious” (No. 80), Trace Adkins’ “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” (No. 91), System Of A Down’s “Hypnotize” (No. 93), Chamillionaire’s “Turn It Up” featuring Lil’ Flip (No. 95), Pharrell’s “Can I Have It Like That” featuring Gwen Stefani (No. 97) and George Strait’s “She Let Herself Go” (No. 99).
This week also heralds big news for Shakira and her song “La Tortura,” which breaks the record for the longest-running No. 1 song in the history of Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. Her 21 non-consecutive weeks in the lead bests Son By Four’s 20-week streak with “A Puro Dolor” in 2000.
Keith Urban’s “Better Life” keeps the No. 1 spot warm for a third week on the Hot Country Songs chart while Rob Thomas’ “Lonely No More” leads the Adult Contemporary chart for a 12th. Nine Inch Nails’ “Only” leads the Modern Rock airplay chart for a third week in a row.
