Kanye West will sit for his first TV interview in years — thanks to the power of family.
He’ll appear on Kris Jenner’s daytime program, “Kris,” on Friday.
It’s safe to assume he’ll receive a gentler treatment from the mother of his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian (and grandmother to the couple’s new baby, North), than his previous TV outings in the wake of his Taylor Swift microphone-swiping incident, which included Jay Leno evoking West’s late mother to reprimand his behavior. West called a 2010 “Today” show interview, in which he talked about former President George W. Bush with Matt Lauer, “very brutal.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, West will speak on Kardashian, fatherhood, his relationship with the media — which got him into a recent altercation at LAX — and President Obama’s critical comments on his “rich and famous” spotlight.
“Kris” airs on Fox stations in markets including New York, Los Angeles and Phoenix. Full episodes also appear on YouTube. West will have a busy week on the small screen: he’s also set for a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.
