Just days after a British organization called Epilepsy Action plotted to get Kanye West’s “All of the Lights” video banned online, Youtube has attached a disclaimer to the clip.
Kanye West Shines in ‘All of the Lights’ Video
Epilepsy Action, which provides support for people with epilepsy, released the following statement in hopes that the clip, which features Kid Cudi and Rihanna, will not be shown online:
“Ofcom regulations mean that this video should not be broadcast on U.K. television. However, the Kanye West video is still available online, most notably on YouTube where it has had several million hits, and no such regulations exist for online broadcasting… Epilepsy Action has contacted Kanye West’s agent, YouTube and other online sources of the video to ask that they take it down.”
Following the request from Epilepsy Action, a disclaimer was attached to the video on Youtube, which warned viewers of the video’s potential damage to people with photosensitive epilepsy. The message reads:
“Warning: This video has been identified by Epilepsy Action to potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.”
While Epilepsy Action seemed satisfied with Youtube’s prompt actions, according to a statement they sent MTV shortly after, the organization is still going to try to get a new version of the video — which they found out has been created specifically for the UK audience — to replace the one that’s up now on Youtube as a further precaution.
