Kanye West hasn’t finished tinkering with The Life of Pablo.
As news filtered down on West’s upcoming Saint Pablo tour, the rapper has repackaged his seventh and most recent album with the new track “Saint Pablo”.
“Saint Pablo” premiered in a DJ set in late February and was rumored to be the first song lifted from a new Kanye album. It’s now the 20th and final track on the updated version of Pablo (the deluxe version was available on Tidal and Apple Music at time of writing). Sampha contributed vocals to the song, which was co-produced by Mike Dean.
The LP was briefly removed from Tidal’s catalogue overnight while the new iteration was ingested, a process that raised eyebrows among Yeezy’s fans and cranked the rumor-mill into gear.
A source close to Kanye told Billboard overnight: “This is a living album and we’re delivering a new update to the album, as we said we would.”
The Life of Pablo reportedly surpassed 250 million streams in its first 10 days of release as an exclusive through Tidal in February.
The album, which Kanye previously said would only ever exist on Tidal, rolled out across all major streaming services on March 31 and reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The Chicago hip-hop star and Tidal were sued in April for allegedly duping fans into subscribing to the service on the promise of it being the exclusive outlet for the recording.
Kanye, a founding artist-owner of Tidal, was on hand for the public launch of the service back in March 2015. His 29-city tour in support of Pablo will kick off on Aug. 25 in Indianapolis.
