Kanye West might have a new job to add to his roster in the near future. According to a report, he might be working with the upcoming WGN America series Underground.
Deadline reports that the rapper is in talks to work on the music side of the project, which will focus on the Underground Railroad.
A rep for the rapper has not responded to Billboard’s request for comment. A rep for the network had no additional details.
The 10-episode series is set to star Christopher Meloni, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge and Jessica De Gouw. It will focus on a set of slaves from Georgia trying to escape their plantation and find freedom. They seek help from a couple who are secretly abolitionists. The show would be slated for a 2016 premiere.
Should it work out, West wouldn’t be the music star to work with WGN America. Marilyn Manson performs the track “Cupid Carries a Gun” for the opening credits on the network’s supernatural series Salem.
