He has conquered the worlds of music and fashion, now Kanye West is throwing him energies behind another, off-center, passion.
‘Ye was co-creative director of the inaugural Pornhub Awards, which aired Thursday night, his reps confirmed to Vanity Fair.
Kanye teamed with Willo Perron as the co-creative heads for the show at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, which were hosted by adult-film star Asa Akira and live-streamed on the adult entertainment site.
Perhaps we shouldn’t be so surprised. West is a “professed fan of the site,” notes Page Six, which broke the news of his new gig earlier this week.
And on his recent Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance, West wasn’t shy to admit his fondness for online action. “Do you feel like your attitude toward women has changed since having daughters?” Kimmel asked, to which Kanye bluntly responded, “No, I still look at Pornhub.”
As a thank-you for the shout-out, Pornhub recently granted the rapper a lifetime of free premium membership to its service.
West debuted a new song with Lil Pump during the ceremony, called “I Love It,” which will be accompanied by a Spike Jonze-directed video at a later date. Also, Kanye reportedly had a hand in the design of the phallic-shaped trophies handed out to the night’s winners.
It’s been a ridiculously busy few months for Kanye, whose G.O.O.D. Music label released five West-produced albums on five consecutive Fridays this summer, including his own artist album, ye, which gave him an eighth Billboard 200 chart title. Outside the creative space, the Trump-supporting hip-hop giant hasn’t abandoned his dreams for the top job. In recent days, he told reporters he’s keen to make a run for the presidency in 2024.
