As if getting his set interrupted by a stage intruder wasn’t enough, Kanye West’s heavily-buzzed-about Glastonbury performance has earned him another hater. It’s Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, who had some choice words for ‘Ye in a recent interview with Music Choice.
“Kanye, you are not — not — the greatest living rock star of all time,” Taylor announces. “The fact that you had to tell people that kind of says it all. You remind me of the guy who brags about p-ssy. They never get as much as they brag about.” He then slapped his wrist — as if shooing away a pesky fly — and hit Kanye with a closing “stop it!”
Taylor is out promoting his new book You’re Making Me Hate You, which came out July 7.
Kanye called himself the “greatest living rock star on the planet” during his July 27 Glastonbury headlining performance, which certainly got under the skin of those who like to think the title belongs to someone else. Prior to that performance, an online petition to have West replaced by a rock band gained over 130,000 signatures.
When all was said and done, through, even Noel Gallagher admitted to loving some of the set, so ‘Ye must have done something right.
Billboard has reached out to both Taylor and West’s representatives for further comment.
