Ga In, a member of the talented girl group Brown Eyed Girls, makes a huge debut on the chart with her new single “Bloom.” The track talks of Ga In’s process of blooming into a flower-and the video makes it clear she is fully matured! The video features scenes of Ga In having sex, pole dancing, and lying in bed naked Marilyn Monroe-style juxtaposed with footage of her innocently staring at the camera and playing with farm animals. The clip is all the more surprising when you realize Ga In is Brown Eyed Girls’ youngest member! The comeback has proven successful with Ga In earning the top debut this week at No. 2 with the accompanying must-see six minute masterpiece music video.
Other top-notch K-pop videos this week come from SECRET’s latest hit single “Poison” which just falls out of the Top 10 in its four week on the chart (down to No. 13). The brassy, soulful pop single appears to have found inspiration from today’s top R&B divas with sonic similarities to Amerie’s “Gotta Work” and visual similarities to Beyonce’s “Dance For You” music video. The video has earned over 6 million views since debuting.
Hugely-influential K-pop group TVXQ made a comeback recently with their new single “Catch Me.” Despite being regarded as one of the top K-pop acts in the world, TVXQ’s latest stalled on the charts peaking at No. 25 before falling to No. 31 in its third week. Still TVXQ have crafted a comeback that shows off their dedication to high quality vocals and choreography.
