K-pop boy band The Boyz felt the first flutters of love in the energetic music video for their new single “Bloom Bloom.”
Released on Monday (April 29), “Bloom Bloom” fronts the group’s newly-released single album of the same name. The song is a vibrant dance track with electro house elements guiding much of the sweet melody as the act’s dozen members sing the sprightly lead-up to the explosive “bloom bloom pow” of the chorus.
The song was released with a seasonally-inspired music video that sees The Boyz acting like, well, boys, and having fun in the springtime weather as they dream of spaceships and outer space. Though it seems like they’re set to stay much closer to earth while playing baseball as they sing and dance about their romantic feelings, the plot takes a turn and they have an otherworldly encounter before “Bloom Bloom” comes to an end.
Along with the title track, Bloom Bloom features two other songs, “Butterfly” and “Clover.” The Boyz’ Sunwoo and Eric are credited as co-lyricists on “Bloom Bloom” and the latter also on alt-R&B tune “Butterfly,” while the group is credited in its entirety as lyricists on the bright and effusive electropop track “Clover.”
The group made its debut in 2017. “Bloom Bloom” is their first single of 2019.
