Following the murder in Mexico of Sergio Gómez, lead singer of duranguense
group K-Paz de la Sierra, the group’s most recent album, “Capaz de Todo Por
Tí,” jumped to No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart for the week ending Dec. 10,” up from No. 11 the week before.
It had debuted on the top ten three weeks ago. In total, there are currently six K-Paz titles among the top 100 of the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. They also include “15 Auténticos Exitos” and “Pero Te Vas a Arrepentir,” which entered the chart this week at No. 32 and No. 37 respectively. The more recent “Consquistando Corazones,” which was released in 2006 and spent 23 weeks on the chart, reentered at No. 49.
