
Justin Bieber’s woes continued today, as the embattled pop singer and his private plane were detained in New Jersey on suspicion of marijuana.
According to the New York Post, the plane, which flew in en route to this weekend’s Super Bowl, was stopped for a few hours Friday (Jan. 31) at Teterboro Airport. The chartered jet was detained because officers reportedly smelled marijuana on the aircraft upon its landing.

Bieber was brought to an airport holding area while a search was conducted. Two separate drug dogs indicated marijuana was located in two pieces of luggage during the search.
However, no illegal substances were found by officials, leading to Bieber and his entourage’s release after the interrogation.
The search comes days after the singer turned himself in to Toronto officials and being charged with assault stemming from an incident in the city last month. Last week, he was arrested in Miami and charged with DUI and resisting arrest, with a toxicology report confirming he had marijuana and pills in his system at the time of the arrest.
Bieber had chartered the flight for festivities surrounding this weekend’s Super Bowl.
