Justin Bieber is still going strong with his downbeat, R&B-driven ‘Music Mondays’ release series, and it appears that next week’s track will get an assist from a titan in the genre. On Wednesday (Nov. 13), Bieber told his Twitter followers that his previously-hinted-at collaboration with R. Kelly will be arriving “next week,” although the teen superstar did not clarify whether or not the track would be part of ‘Music Mondays’ or a bonus cut outside of the series.
“I just did a song [with him],” R. Kelly told Vibe about Bieber earlier this week. “[Justin] just called me to do a song and it’s hot. He wanted to go and do some R&B stuff so we got together and did that.”
On a less savory topic, Bieber took to Twitter on Wednesday night to address the latest bump in the road on a tumultuous tour of South America. During Saturday night’s performance in Buenos Aires, Argentina — which Bieber left halfway through due to food poisoning — the singer inadvertently swept an Argentinian flag off the stage with his foot and mic stand, causing an unexpected backlash when video of the incident went viral.
In a series of tweets, Bieber claims that he had no idea the garment thrown onstage was an Argentinian flag. “[P]eople throw stuff on my stage all show and i get it to the stage hands to get off so no one got hurt. that video i saw a bra and thought… it was a shirt. Im being told by my team it was a shirt but even if it was a flag I would never do anything to disrespect Argentina …or the people of Argentina or the fans. Im so sorry for anyone who took my actions the wrong way and I hope you can forgive this mistake,” he wrote.
Bieber’s Believe tour continues next Monday (Nov. 18) with a three-night stint in Mexico City. Meanwhile, the ‘Music Mondays’ series leads up to the Christmas Day release of “Believe 3D,” Bieber’s second feature film.
